Christmas is coming in the Galaxy

Okay, this title doesn’t mean anything, except that the first Christmas cans and bottles are arriving on store shelves and are still standing alongside the Star Wars cans and bottles. Here is a can seen in Germany, while in France, 1.5-liter plastic bottles are arriving.

Let’s hope for some new releases by the end of the year!

In the meantime, here’s an update on the Star Wars cans. I’m not going to go back over the visuals presented in June, but rather focus on a few differences between countries. Let’s start with the United States, with a series of eight cans, a Star Wars-printed Plexiglas display (superb) designed to hold six cans (out of eight, which is surprising) and numerous cardboard displays.

Again in the United States, collector’s boxes have appeared, one with the four regular cans and one with the four zero cans. Available on eBay at… unreasonable prices! A French box has been seen on Facebook at an Asian collector’s home, the only one seen to date.

Here is a brief comparison of the different series available: the US series, the Belgian series, an American “alternative” series with an “80c” banner, a priori also with eight cans, and the Spanish series, which is limited to six designs.

In theory, each country could choose the number of cans and the visuals for its local production. It may come as a surprise to see Luc and R2D2 only on plastic bottle labels, while C3PO is very present. Similarly, Han Solo, available on labels here, appears on Japanese cans.

May the force be with you 🙂 !
